Terms of use

Updated 18 October 2026

ChurchSense helps churches keep attendance, giving totals, follow-up and reports in good order. It's made by Paruto Media ("Paruto", "we") in Abuja, Nigeria. These terms are the agreement between us and you when you use it, and the church you act for when you set one up or manage one. By signing in, you agree to them. How we handle personal data is explained in the privacy notice.

Your account

  • You sign in with Paruto ID, using a passkey or a code emailed to you. Use an email address that's yours, and keep your devices and passkeys secure.
  • You're responsible for what happens in ChurchSense under your account. If you think someone else has used it, sign out other devices from your profile and tell us.
  • You must be at least 16, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.

Churches and their administrators

  • Each church controls its own records. Its administrators decide who can join, what role each person has and which locations they can see. They should remove access promptly when someone leaves a role.
  • A church is responsible for the people it records. Before entering a newcomer's or anyone else's details, the church needs a lawful reason to keep them (such as their consent), must tell them how their details are used, and must answer their requests to see, correct or remove them, as data protection law requires where the church is.
  • We act on the church's behalf for those records: we store and process them only to run ChurchSense for that church, keep them secure, and help the church answer people's requests. We never sell them or use them for advertising.
  • Record only what pastoral care needs. Keep sensitive conversations brief and mark them as sensitive.

Using ChurchSense fairly

Please don't:

  • use it for anything unlawful, or to harass, threaten or harm anyone;
  • try to see records you haven't been given access to, including another church's or another location's;
  • test, probe or get around its security, rate limits or bot checks, or overload it;
  • copy it, scrape it, or access it with automated tools other than the ones it offers;
  • resell it or offer it as a service to others without our written agreement.

If you find a security problem, please tell us at support@paruto.com before telling anyone else, and we'll work with you to fix it.

The demo

The demo church is a shared example with invented people and figures. Guests can look but not change anything, and we may refresh or change it at any time. Don't enter real personal details into it.

AI insights

Some summaries and suggestions are written by AI from a church's totals and scores (never people's names, notes or giving amounts). They can be wrong or incomplete, so check them before acting on them. A church can turn them off.

Messages we send for a church

ChurchSense sends invitation emails and the scheduled reports a church sets up, and push notifications to people who turn them on. A church should only invite people who expect to hear from it, and send reports only to people who should receive them.

Your church's content

A church owns the records it puts into ChurchSense. It gives us permission to host, process and show them only to the people it has given access, and only as needed to run ChurchSense. Shared report links show what the person sharing them could see, to anyone with the link, until they expire or are revoked; share them with care.

Price

ChurchSense is free to use at the moment. If we introduce charges, we'll tell churches well in advance, and nothing will be charged without a church agreeing to it.

Changes and availability

  • We work to keep ChurchSense available and its records safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of faults.
  • We improve ChurchSense often and describe what changed in What's new. If we plan to remove a feature churches rely on, we'll give notice first.
  • We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and before a significant change takes effect we'll tell you in the app, with a What's new card. Using ChurchSense after that means you accept the updated terms.

Ending

  • You can stop using ChurchSense at any time. A church administrator can remove anyone's access to their church.
  • To close a church's workspace and have its records deleted, its administrator can write to us at support@paruto.com. We'll delete them within 30 days, except anything the law requires us to keep.
  • We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms or puts other people's data at risk, and will explain why unless the law or safety prevents it.

Responsibility

  • ChurchSense is provided as it is. Churches should keep their own copies of records they must keep.
  • We aren't responsible for losses we couldn't reasonably have foreseen, or for indirect losses such as lost income or opportunities. Our total responsibility to a church is limited to what it paid us for ChurchSense in the 12 months before the claim (nothing, while it's free).
  • Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that the law doesn't allow to be limited, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria will settle any dispute about them. This doesn't take away any rights you have under the law where you live that can't be changed by agreement.
